To my fellow classmen:
I quote William Finnegan quoting Walpole, "Life is a comedy to those who think, and a tragedy to those who feel."I honestly don't feel like that I'm in the position to tell you things about life, because I genuinely and so miserably suck at it. But that's how I see it. Everybody is doing this for the first time: living. And people generally suck at something they try to do for the first time. What do you do when you want to be good at something? You consult the more expereiced, seek comfort from your peers, and you practice. As a possibly more experienced peer,who has practiced some aspects of life, I'm telling you

Some things I learned:
* Don't be afraid to change and move forward. Say goodbye to people that are holding you back. There is a time for
every relationship
* Listen to your parents and teachers, unless they're wrong of course. But genuinely, most teachers and even more
parents only want the best of you.
* Listen more than you speak. Perspectives are important. Whatever people say, listen to them before you react.
* Do more than you dare.
* Think more than you do. Analyze beforehand, and summarize afterwards.
* Go to office hours. Make friends with people that intimidate you.
* Go to those classes!! Don't try to be a smartass and think that they're not worth your time. You'll spend a lot more time trying to catch up. Think of the tuition you're paying.
* and wear a helmet when you ride a bike.To finish off, don't doubt the road you're taking.

我引用一句William Finnegan引用沃波尔的话，“生活对于那些思考的人来说是一出喜剧，对那些感受到的人来说是一场悲剧。”坦诚来讲，我不认为我到了可以告诉你们人生道理的高度，因为我其实过得也很糟糕。不过我是这样看的。每个人都是第一次经历这件事：生活。而且一般来说，第一次做一件事的时候往往做的很糟糕。当你想精于某件事的时候你会怎样做？咨询有经验的人，从同伴那里寻求安慰，然后练习。
作为一个经历过生活的某些方面，经验可能丰富一些的同龄人，我可以告诉你们一些我学到的事情。不要害怕改变，勇往直前。对那些羁绊你的人说再见，任何关系都是有保质期的。听从父母和老师的建议，除非他们明显是错误的。但是其实，大多数老师和绝大多数父母都是希望你能过得最好。多听少说。有观点是重要的。不论其他人说什么，在做出回应之前请先听完。勇于尝试。想的要比做的多。事前分析、事后总结。和那些让你感觉害怕的人做朋友。去上课！不要耍小聪明，认为那些课不值得你浪费时间。事后你将需要花更多的时间去赶上这些课。想想你付的学费！骑自行车时要戴安全帽。最后，不要怀疑你正在走的路！
